Rip Hamilton a game-day decision
By Nick Friedell
CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is still undecided as to whether or not new shooting guard Rip Hamilton will make his Bulls debut in Tuesday night's preseason finale against the Indiana Pacers.
"Today was a little bit better," Thibodeau said after Monday afternoon's practice. "We'll see how it goes at the shootaround (Tuesday). Then we'll make a decision."
Hamilton did not play in the Bulls' preseason opener on Friday night in Indianapolis and Thibodeau obviously wants to teach the veteran as much as he can before making a final decision on his playing status.
"He's moving along well," Thibodeau said. "He's in pretty good shape. I just want to make sure."
As far as some of his teammates are concerned, there is no doubt Hamilton will play.
"He'll play (Tuesday)," Bulls power forward Carlos Boozer said when asked about Hamilton's status.
Bulls center Joakim Noah acknowledged that he would like to play alongside his new teammate once, if possible, before the regular season begins on Christmas Day against the Los Angeles Lakers.
"The more experience you have on the court, the better," Noah said. "He's definitely a great addition to our team. Somebody who understands the game. He's had a lot of playoff experience. He's definitely going to help. He can really score the ball."
