Junior college cornerback Kass Everett (Philadelphia/Pierce College) has signed with Oklahoma. It is official. There's no turning back at this point. But to say it has been a tumultuous 24 hours for Everett would be a tremendous understatement.
Everett, one of the elite defensive backs in the junior college ranks, knew he was going to be making a decision Wednesday between Oklahoma and Texas Tech.

But he never intended to make it three times, but that's exactly what he did. In the end, Everett's paperwork arrived in Norman, and he officially signed with the Sooners on Wednesday night.
Wednesday afternoon? That was another story. Everett went to sleep Tuesday night believing he was going to sign with OU. However, he had a tough time sleeping and felt like something was wrong. He woke up and decided to change his mind and pick Texas Tech.
Everett put on the Texas Tech hat at the signing ceremony Wednesday afternoon at Pierce College (Woodland Hills, Calif.), but he remained uncharacteristically quiet after the decision.
While his teammate and roommate Gerald Bowman (Woodland Hills, Calif./Pierce College) was tweeting and posting on Facebook about signing with USC, Everett didn't have one social media message about joining the Texas Tech family.
Now everybody knows why. It was confirmed by the OU football administration that Everett changed his mind and his national letter of intent reached OU late Wednesday afternoon.
Everett becomes the second defensive back pledge to the Sooners this week. Kevin Peterson (Wagoner, Okla./Wagoner) gave his verbal commitment to OU on Sunday. Peterson and Everett join De'Vante Harris (Mesquite, Texas/Horn) as the three cornerbacks for the 2012 class.
Everett is the second official signee for the 2012 class as tight end Brannon Green (Altamont, Kan./Fort Scott CC) became the first Wednesday morning. Defensive end Chaz Nelson (Columbus, Ohio/Fort Scott CC) will sign Friday. His papers are in Ohio, while he is in Florida. He said there are no concerns. As soon as he gets to Ohio, it will be the first thing he does.
