Brenden Morrow returns for Stars
By Mark Stepneski
DALLAS -- Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow will return to the lineup Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks at American Airlines Center.
Morrow has been sidelined for 18 games with neck and back issues. He's expected to play on a line with Steve Ott, who missed the last game because of back spasms, and Jamie Benn.
Coach Glen Gulutzan said the Stars plan to ease Morrow back into things.
"We're going to manage his minutes," Gulutzan said. "Probably between 10 and 12 or 10 and 14, somewhere in there for the first game in 5½ weeks."
Morrow, who was activated off injured reserve on Friday, said he was anxious to get back and join the team, which is on an 8-0-1 run that has pushed it to the top of the Pacific Division and the third seed in the Western Conference.
"This is where I want to be, a part of this," Morrow said. "The team is on a roll, and I'd like to get back in there and help them out."
With Ott and Morrow both returning, the Stars will have to scratch three forwards. Gulutzan said Toby Petersen will be one of the scratches, but the others would be game-time decisions.
With Sheldon Souray out with a lower-body injury, Adam Pardy will be back in the lineup. He's expected to be paired with Philip Larsen. The other defensive pairings will be Alex Goligoski-Stephane Robidas and Mark Fistric-Trevor Daley.
Kari Lehtonen will start in goal against the Ducks.
