Tony Parker injures hamstring
SAN ANTONIO -- All-Star point guard Tony Parker left the Spurs' game against the Timberwolves on Wednesday night with 8:03 remaining in the first half because of tightness in his left hamstring and won't return.
Parker, who had two points and six assists when he left, spoke briefly with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich before heading to the locker room. The veteran guard is averaging 20 points and eight assists this season.
He's missed two games this season for the Spurs, who lost backup T.J. Ford to retirement earlier this month. With Parker out, Gary Neal is the primary backup point guard. The team sent rookie point guard Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League on Tuesday.
