ECNL U18 Power Rankings

By Sheldon Shealer & Chris Ackels

Mustang's 1-0-1 weekend showing was good enough to allow this NorCal power stay No. 4 in this week's ESNPHS ECNL Under-18 Power Rankings.

Mustang SC was the only top five team that played this past weekend. This weekend, No. 4 Mustang and No. 5 Arsenal are in action at the ECNL event in San Diego. With the top three teams either finished for idle until late April, the only potential change will be in the bottom two spots.

Throughout the rest of the season, ESPNHS will offer a weekly glance at the top five teams in each age group.

It should be noted, these rankings are not predictive, but rather reactive to the results. In other words, the higher ranked team has accomplished something on the field to earn that position for now. As such, we expect quite a bit of turnover in the rankings throughout the rest of the ECNL season.

2011-12 Elite Clubs National League Power Rankings: Under-18
Dallas Texans

Last Week: 1
The Dallas Texans were idle last week and will be for another month. Two games against second-place Solar Chelsea will be the biggest obstacle to an undefeated season.
Next Match: April 22 vs. Dallas Sting
Michigan Hawks

Last Week: 2
The regular season is complete for this offensive powerhouse. Two marquee wins over Carmel and Eclipse highlighted the year as the Hawks look toward the playoffs.
Next Match: Playoffs, TBA
SC del Sol

Last Week: 3
SC del Sol was idle this week, but the team has had a strong overall scheduled, including tying Michigan Hawks 0-0 in February and beating Mustang 2-1 in October.
Next Match: April 28 vs. Arsenal FC
Mustang SC

Last Week: 4
This week, Mustang beat last-place Washington Premier 3-0 then tied second-place Crossfire Premier 0-0. Mustang will compete this weekend at the national event in San Diego.
Next Match: March 31 vs. Slammers
Arsenal FC

Last Week: 5
They were idle this week, but will compete in San Diego with three games this weekend. A 1-0 loss to Mustang is the only thing keeping them in fifth. A solid weekend could change that.
Next Match: March 31 vs. FC Stars of Mass
