ECNL U18 Power Rankings

By Sheldon Shealer & Chris Ackels

While the top spots in the rankings seem to be locked down, there is one wild card emerging in the East.

Albertson SC (N.Y.) makes its debut in this week's ESPNHS ECNL Under-18 Power Rankings at No. 4, and the team has time to move up. Albertson's only loss this season is to the No. 2 Michigan Hawks, meaning more positive results by Albertson could inch this team even higher in the rankings.

Throughout the rest of the season, ESPNHS will offer a weekly glance at the top five teams in each age group.

It should be noted, these rankings are not predictive, but rather reactive to the results. In other words, the higher ranked team has accomplished something on the field to earn that position for now. As such, we expect quite a bit of turnover in the rankings throughout the rest of the ECNL season.

2011-12 Elite Clubs National League Power Rankings: Under-18
Dallas Texans

Last Week: 1
The Dallas Texans were idle last week and will be until late this month. Two games against second-place Solar Chelsea will be the biggest obstacle to an undefeated season.
Next Match: April 22 vs. Dallas Sting
Michigan Hawks

Last Week: 2
The regular season is complete for this offensive powerhouse. Two marquee wins over Carmel and Eclipse highlighted the year as the Hawks look toward the playoffs.
Next Match: Playoffs, TBA
SC del Sol

Last Week: 3
SC del Sol was idle this week, but the team has had a strong overall schedule, including tying Michigan Hawks 0-0 in February and beating Mustang 2-1 in October.
Next Match: April 28 vs. Arsenal FC
Albertson SC

Last Week: NR
This New York power is just getting rolling with the spring part of its schedule. The team's only setback is a loss to the Michigan Hawks. The team leads the Northeast Conference.
Next Match: April 14 vs. Scorpions
Mustang SC
Last Week: 4
Mustang went 2-0-1 at the ECNL San Diego event over the weekend, but two ties in the team's last five matches result in a one-spot slip in this week's rankings.
Next Match: May 5 at Washington Premier
