MIAMI -- Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade expects to play Tuesday against the Boston Celtics after sitting out Sunday's game with a sore right ankle.

"It feels better," Wade said. "I'll be ready to go (Tuesday)."

The Heat are set to take on the surging Celtics on Tuesday night in a game that could be a playoff preview.

The team hopes he will be ready to play after the All-Star guard participated in shooting and conditioning drills at the Heat's practice on Monday.

"We'll evaluate him and see what happens tomorrow," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

Spoelstra had given Wade the night off on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons to rest his sore ankle. The ankle had swelled up after an awkward landing in Friday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Heat have played without Wade for 11 games this season and are 10-1 in those games with the most recent win on Sunday against the Pistons. Wade is averaging 22.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists this season with a player efficiency rating of 26.8.

Tuesday's game between the Heat and Celtics will be nationally televised on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. ET. The two teams have split their season series one game apiece and have two games remaining against each other in the regular season.
