Tom Dugan goes "Full Throttle" for etnies

Tom Dugan airs to a bouncy castle in a new "Full Throttle" promo from Etnies.

On the heels of a bizarre Fit Bike Co. frame promo, a full interview in The Albion and a medically induced coma recently suffered in Spain, Tom Dugan is back with a new riding video from Etnies Footwear titled "Full Throttle." Without the aid of a soundtrack, Dugan's first line ends with a backyard box jump bail into a bouncy castle. This may in fact be the first time in the history of BMX that a bouncy castle was actually rented as a prop for the production of a BMX video. And it doesn't end there.

Dugan continues to ride his backyard setup, which includes 10-foot airs, ungodly high hip airs and expletive proclamations from Dugan every time he manages to land a line. With most riders that air both to the left and the right, their style of air varies depending on the direction they're going. But Dugan has reached a point of natural, extremely comfortable style in either direction he airs. And yet again, it doesn't end there.

Tom Dugan riding street is a testament to the strength of his sponsor's products -- Fit Bike Co. frames and Odyssey components. Between the roof drops, the 360 roof drops, the nollie roof drop and the 180 over a fence and out of the ditch, Dugan's approach to street riding falls somewhere between Sean Burns, Corey Bohan style 360s and Paul Buchanan's Austin eye for ditch flyouts. In a sea of daily tech lines at 2 mph, Dugan's "Full Throttle" approach to death-defying moves on the streets of Austin is a welcome change, and very brave.

The video went live earlier today, and immediately became the talk of the BMX world on Twitter. Dugan was quick to respond to the praise. "Well I'll be a monkey's uncle," he said.

Currently, Tom Dugan is off his bike, recovering from a head injury, and has been forced to withdraw from Mini Mega competition at the Asian X Games in Shanghai, China later this month. With plans for the MegaRamp later this year, the sky is literally the limit for Tom Dugan. And if this is any indication of what to expect from Dugan in Empire BMX's "Bad Idea," then we look forward to seeing that in hopefully just a few weeks.
