SAN PABLO, Calif. -- The nation's No. 2-rated pocket passer, Max Browne (Sammamish, Wash./Skyline), earned an invitation Friday to the Elite 11 finals for his performance at the Oakland regional.
Browne is the 11th player selected for the marquee event, set for July in Redondo Beach, Calif.
He was named MVP of the Oakland regional, which also included Elite 11 finalists Cooper Bateman and Luke Del Rio.
Browne's invite comes as no surprise. Committed since early April to USC, the 6-foot-5, 205-pounder ranks 13th in the ESPN 150 and as the No. 1 prospect in the West region.
He threw for 4,034 yards and 45 touchdowns as a junior, completing 70 percent of his passes.
