Under-17/18 Academy Rankings

By Sheldon Shealer
ESPNHS Senior Editor

The competitive balance through the Development Academy was evident this past weekend as three teams took losses and one team tied -- all against unranked opponents.

This week figures to be just as eventful, especially with a Top 10 clash between PDA and Albertson highlighting the schedule.

Albertson is the lone new team in this week's top 10 in a week that saw plenty of shuffling in the rankings. Shattuck-Mary's hot run as this residential program up to No. 3, its highest-ever ranking. PDA, Baltimore Bays Chelsea and New York Red Bulls all move up.

Throughout the rest of the season, ESPNHS will offer a weekly glance at the top 10 teams in each age group.

It should be noted, these rankings are not predictive, but rather reactive to the results. In other words, the higher ranked team has accomplished something on the field to earn that position for now. As such, we expect quite a bit of turnover in the top 10 -- especially the bottom three to five spots -- throughout the rest of the Development Academy season.
