EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants had barely turned the page to a new season when Brian Witherspoon reinjured his ACL during practice at the Giants' first organized team activity of the offseason.

The cornerback was coming back after suffering a season-ending ACL tear in August of last year.

Witherspoon crumpled on the field during position drills, and teammates Prince Amukamara and Corey Webster quickly took a knee. After trainers looked at his leg, Witherspoon was carted off the field. Coach Tom Coughlin later confirmed that Witherspoon had injured his ACL.

"I'm afraid it was an ACL again," Coughlin said.

The drills were all non-contact.

Tight ends Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum both injured their ACLs during the Super Bowl and did not participate in team drills Wednesday. Unlike Ballard, Beckum was in uniform with the team.

Later, defensive back Antwaun Molden was carted off the field with a leg injury, which did not appear serious.
