    CHAMPIONSHIP HIGHLIGHTS

    SATURDAY

    *TEAM: Summit became the first team in state history to repeat as boys and girls champion and the Storm dominated the Class 5A meet, amassing 194 total points. Aloha, despite losing best athlete Thomas Tyner, won its first boys championship (6A) since 1978. And St. Mary's of Portland, led by two relays victories and Paige Rice's double, won the girls title for the first time. Gladstone (girls) and La Pine (boys) won the 4A team titles.
    *B-1500: Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski of Forest Grove broke the state's sophomore class record, running 3:53.75 for the win. Sheldon's Darland Jackson set a fast pace, going through the 800 in 2:00.
    *B-JT: Garrett Snow of Eagle Point threw 205-8 to break the 5A meet record.

    FRIDAY
    *B-3000: Beaverton's Dan Oekerman edged sligthly ahead of Lakeridge's Julian Heninger on the final step and won the race in 8:40.16 to Heninger's 8:40.17.
    *G-3000: Paige Rice of St. Mary's ran 9:49.77 to win with the 11th fastest time in Oregon history.
    *G-JT: Haley Crouser won her third consecutive title in the javelin, hitting a best of 170-11. She was a little shy of Rachel Yurkovich's state meet record of 172-8.
    *G-100: Westview's Dominque Keel broke 12 seconds in the prelims, going 11.97 but the wind was over the allowable limit (+3.8).
