Under-17/18 Academy Rankings

By Sheldon Shealer
ESPNHS Senior Editor

One bad weekend for Sockers FC bumped the team division title contender to likely at-large playoff squad. In the process, the 0-2 showing knocked the Sockers out of this week's top 10 after previously holding the No. 2 position.

The newcomer in this week's rankings is Texans SC Houston, which checks in at No. 8.

Shattuck-St. Mary's, FC Dallas, PDA, New York Red Bulls, Baltimore Bays Chelsea and LA Galaxy all move up a spot to occupy the Nos. 2 through 7 rankings.

Throughout the rest of the season, ESPNHS will offer a weekly glance at the top 10 teams in each age group.

It should be noted, these rankings are not predictive, but rather reactive to the results. In other words, the higher ranked team has accomplished something on the field to earn that position for now. As such, we expect quite a bit of turnover in the top 10 -- especially the bottom three to five spots -- throughout the rest of the Development Academy season.
