GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- After jumping off to a hot start in the 2013 recruiting class, the Florida Gators have begun to work on their 2014 class. Ft. Myers (Fla.) Dunbar wide receiver Ryeshene Bronson, a 2014 prospect, verbally committed to Florida on Thursday, making him the first Gators commitment of the 2014 recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-3, 183-pound athlete chose the Gators over offers from Auburn, Florida State, South Carolina, Massachusetts and North Carolina.

Ryeshene Bronson also had offers from Auburn, Florida State and South Carolina.
Bronson says it was his comfort level with the Florida coaching staff that led to his decision to pull the trigger early on in the process.

"I just like the OC, all the coaches, the environment and the people," Bronson said. "I just want to be a Gator. Now that I have committed I don't have to stress anymore and I look forward to be a Gator in 2014."

Bronson, who is the cousin of Clemson sophomore Sammy Watkins and incoming South Carolina freshman Jordan Diggs, said Florida head coach Will Muschamp was excited to learn of his commitment.

"He told me he wasn't going to sleep at night," Bronson said. "He was too happy."

The talented receiver said he might see other colleges but he grew up rooting for Florida.

"I might see some other schools but I'm going to be a Gator regardless," he said.

As a junior, Bronson missed six games because of an injury but still totaled 483 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 21 receptions.
