Tomorow is father day and there are plenty of waveslayer out there, as well as other action sports athletes, who are loving the joys of 'Dadhood.'
"This is going to be one of the most monumental skydives known to mankind," says Erik Roner in the new episode of Roner Vision, which dropped this week.
It's all a spoof, but Roner -- a pro skier, BASE jumper and Nitro Circus star -- is talking about sending his toddler son, Oskar, into orbit. Oskar has been making regular appearances lately in Roner's webisodes, mock BASE jumping and skiing over cliffs. (Roner is out with an injured femur, so his son is taking over the spotlight while his dad is recovering.)
Jokes aside, the videos do send a certain message about fatherhood: Being a pro athlete in the action sports world and being a good dad are not mutually exclusive things. Roner, at least, is having fun being both.
"Being a father is better than I ever imagined," Roner says. "It's a lot of work, but the rewards are huge. Bringing a child up in the world I'm involved in is a unique experience. I love it."
In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday, we're shining the light on some of the top athletes in their respective action sports who also happen to be dads.Launch Gallery »
