Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello isn't sitting idle while marquee free agent Zach Parise takes his time to decide.

After locking up both franchise goaltender Martin Brodeur and backup netminder Johan Hedberg to two-year deals Monday, Lamoriello re-signed another one of the team's core members Tuesday.

The Devils announced they signed veteran defenseman Bryce Salvador to a three-year deal; the contract is worth $9.5 million, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com.

The 36-year-old Salvador had plenty of interest from around the league following a tremendous post-season during which he recorded 14 points (four goals, 10 assists), but his priority was always to return to the Devils. Salvador, who missed the entire 2010-11 season with a cochlear concussion, earned a pay raise with his strong playoff production. His average annual value is now $3.16 million per year, up from the $2.9 made annually from the four-year deal he inked back in 2008.
