Mark Richt: No pursuit of PSU players

ATHENS, Ga. -- Before saying Friday it would not be recruiting Penn State players, Georgia gave notification to the Nittany Lions of 19 athletes whom the school's coaches planned to contact, on the same day the NCAA's punishments against Penn State were announced.
According to correspondence between the two schools obtained Friday by DawgNation, Georgia director of compliance Steve Flippen sent a list to Matt Stolberg, Penn State's associate athletic director for compliance and student-athlete services, on Monday.
Part of the NCAA's announcement was that players on the team could transfer with immediate eligibility at their new programs if they so desired. Per NCAA bylaw 184.108.40.206.3, schools are obligated to notify Penn State as to whom they would contact.
