For some time now, New Jersey has come to grips with the Brooklyn Nets jumping the border. After all, the U-Haul has been parked outside their door getting slowly packed since 2004. So when N.J. Gov. Chris Christie said "Good riddance, see ya later," the Nets were all too happy to oblige. In March 2011, season tickets went on sale for the 2012-13 season. Last September, they announced their "new" name. And the club's new hashtag, #hellobrooklyn, was unleashed before the final tip of last season. If fans wanted to see their owner, Mikhail Prokhorov, they'd have to check Russian TV to watch him stumping for Russian president or rapping on YouTube because he was in the Prudential Center only twice this past season. But then again, the same could be said of many fans. The Nets ranked dead last in attendance, and tickets for Raptors-Nets on Jan. 29 could have been had for $0.01 on Stubhub. In fairness, management was kind enough to throw a bone to fans who would soon have outdated apparel; for $20, fans could sit in the "Loud and Proud" section as long as they wore their gear. An honorable way to say a last goodbye to the legacies of Drazen, DC and Kenny Anderson.
