AP Pro32 comments about Browns
NEW YORK -- Comments on the Cleveland Browns by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
CLEVELAND BROWNS (32)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 32) -- First win coming soon.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 29) -- This team could use a victory for morale, but still playing tough.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 32) -- Comment currently unavailable
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 32) -- New ownership will continue to evaluate everyone in that building.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 32) -- At least Brandon Weeden isn't looking like a deer in the headlights. Small consolation for an 0-4 team about to face the defending champs on the road.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 32) -- Winless, but with the likes of Brandon Weeden, Trent Richardson, Billy Winn and Jabaal Sheard this franchise finally has a future.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 32) -- That's 13 losses in their last 14 games, and, no, that's never a good sign for a head coach about to gain a new boss.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 32) -- The Brandon Weeden experiment is off to a rocky start.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 30) -- No one can say the Browns don't give great effort. With five rookies starting on offense it is going to take time before they can beat good teams. Brandon Weeden is starting to look like a solid draft pick and is only getting better.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 32) -- The Browns battled and made it a game against the Ravens, but don't have enough to finish games at this point.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 32) -- While evaluating his team's future, new Browns owner Jimmy Haslam can't be happy with an 0-4 start.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 32) -- They keep getting close. Too bad this isn't horseshoes.
