Brooklyn Nets small forward Gerald Wallace is out of his walking boot, but will miss Friday's game against the Orlando Magic due to a sprained left ankle, the team announced Thursday.
Wallace missed Monday night's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Wednesday night's loss to the Miami Heat after initially suffering the injury late in Saturday night's regular-season opening victory over the Toronto Raptors. The Nets have been listing Wallace as day to day.
The Nets have struggled mightily without the versatile 30-year-old defender in their lineup, allowing an average of 105 points in their past two games.
Veteran Keith Bogans has started in place of Wallace.
In his only game of the season, Wallace had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 30 minutes.
Reserve small forward Josh Childress, who has yet to play this season because of his sore left ankle, participated in practice Thursday and is questionable for the Magic game.
