GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel left the Gators' game against Louisiana-Lafayette in the third quarter Saturday with a sprained right ankle and did not return.

Florida coach Will Muschamp said he was unsure of the severity of the ankle sprain and would have more information Sunday.

"It's fast down there and all they tell me is, 'He's out,' " Muschamp said after the Gators (No. 6 BCS, No. 7 AP) scored a last-second 27-20 win. "I said, 'Is he coming back?' 'Right now, no.' That's all I heard."

Driskel was hurt when he was tackled for no gain on a run over right tackle. He limped off the field and spent time on the sideline getting his foot and shoe taped before being taken to the locker room.

Driskel had completed 13-of-16 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown and also had rushed for 76 yards on 12 carries before leaving.

Sophomore Jacoby Brissett took Driskel's place for the Gators and went 6 of 8 for 64 yards and a game-tying 3-yard TD pass with 1:42 left in the game.
