Pretty Sweet is #2 on iTunes

The Pretty Sweet skate video is the second highest selling DVD on iTunes as of November 28, 2012.

Within two weeks of its big-screen world premier, Chocolate and Girl Skateboards' "Pretty Sweet" climbed all the way to number two among the most-purchased movies available through iTunes.

On November 28, the 78-minute widescreen "sports documentary" was the second most purchased movie at the media application's iTunes Store, sharing chart-topping popularity with some of the biggest Hollywood films of the season.

Midweek, "Pretty Sweet" was running just behind "Lawless" (the Nick Cave-scripted Depression-era bootleggers tale starring Shia LaBeouf) and just ahead of action-thriller The Expendables 2 (starring Sylvester Stallone) and the Disney Pixar fable "Brave."

Perhaps for what "Pretty Sweet" lacks in the star power of LaBeouf and Stallone it more that makes up for with Jack Black's breakthrough nude scene.

That, and/or plenty of breakthrough skateboarding from the teams' cast of legendary veterans (Guy Mariano, Eric Koston, Rick McCrank, et al.) and rabid prodigies (Raven Tershy, Vincent Alvarez, and Elijah Berle, among others).

Run that roster through the creative minds (and cinematographic skill set) of Ty Evans, Spike Jonze and Cory Weincheque and it's little wonder that the skate flick's downtown Los Angeles big-screen premier was one of the most highly anticipated (and jam-packed) in recent memory.

Released for download on November 16 ($9.99 for the standard-definition version and $12.99 for HD), the iTunes "Pretty Sweet" plot summary is a small masterpiece itself, describing the Girl and Chocolate teams as rival gangs that "really don't know what the hell they are doing... [but] they love to dance. And when I say dance, I mean SKATE. And when I say SKATE, I mean really good. ["Pretty Sweet"] is a tale with no plot, no ending, but beautiful inner battles acted out on a little board with wheels."

"Pretty Sweet" will be available for rent at iTunes on February 23.
