Fourcade, Berger take biathlon pursuit races
OSTERSUND, Sweden -- Martin Fourcade of France took advantage of nearly windless weather to win the biathlon in Sweden despite starting Sunday's race in 10th position.
Fourcade completed the 12.5-kilometer pursuit in 33 minutes, 3.5 seconds, with only one penalty and just seven-tenths of a second ahead of second-place finisher Andreas Birnbacher of Germany. Anton Shipulin of Russia was third.
In the women's 10-kilometer pursuit, Tora Berger of Norway used his first-place start to secure a victory with a time of 31 minutes, 1.9 seconds.
Darya Domracheva of Belarus was second just under half a minute behind Berger, while Andrea Henkel of Germany finished third.
