Bears ink Dom DeCicco

The Chicago Bears signed linebacker Dom DeCicco to a two-year contract, the team announced, while Brian Urlacher's hamstring injury reportedly could sideline him for at least three weeks.

DeCicco, who finished second on the Bears last season with 17 special-teams tackles, underwent a procedure to correct a sports hernia during the preseason. The Bears waived him with an injury settlement, which meant he wasn't able to re-sign with the Bears until after the duration of the settlement.

He may be used as a back-up to Nick Roach as the Chicago Tribune is reporting Urlacher is expected to miss at least three games with a hamstring injury.

DeCicco was an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh before signing with the Bears last year.

In other roster moves, running back Harvey Unga was put on the practice squad and the Bears waived linebacker Patrick Trahan and terminated the practice squad contract of QB Matt Blanchard.
