AP Pro32 comments about Panthers
NEW YORK -- Comments on the Carolina Panthers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
CAROLINA PANTHERS (27)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 26) -- Too young to follow up Monday Night Football success with another win.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 25) -- Cam Newton has shouldered blame, but there's plenty to go around.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 27)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 26) -- Regardless of how they finish the last four weeks, don't believe it will be enough to save Rivera.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 27) -- Poor defense has hurt the Panthers all season, and Sunday in Kansas City was no exception.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 28) -- Cam Newton has not thrown an interception in his last three games covering 84 passes.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 28) -- I'm beginning to think that maybe Cam Newton's future is in NFL Play60 commercials.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 28) -- Cam Newton will learn from this and come back stronger in 2013.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 26) -- It had to be very difficult to play in Kansas City this past weekend, but the Panthers got three touchdown passes from Newton, 165 yards rushing and couldn't beat the Chiefs.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 27) -- Tough game for anyone to have to play in at KC.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 28) -- Cam Newton is getting back on track. The rest of his team isn't.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 29) -- The Panthers are going to go really young the rest of the season. They should save on razors this way.
