AP Pro32 comments about Bears
NEW YORK -- Comments on the Chicago Bears by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
CHICAGO BEARS (9)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 11) -- Three of four remaining games on road; be careful.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 8) -- Loss to Seattle and tough closing schedule could cost Bears the division.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 13)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 9) -- Despite loss to Seahawks, I believe the Bears still make the postseason.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 11) -- Bears' normally reliable defense can't contain Russell Wilson in overtime, and Chicago will have to sweat out this last month. Playoffs still likely, now just a matter of whether they or the Packers win the division.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 8) -- The Bears and Packers share first place in the NFC North, but Green Bay owns the tiebreaker and has an easier closing schedule than Chicago. The Bears play three of their last four on the road.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 10) -- Suddenly, that defense that carried the Bears to the top of their division is beginning to spring leaks.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 10) -- A swarming defense just disappeared in crunch time.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 10) -- A very good team that may be missing an extra playmaker to close out good teams.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 10) -- The Bears are now banged up on D. This team is built to succeed at this time of year and needs to get healthy to make their run.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 8) -- Speaking of the inability to stop the read-option, that's what doomed the Bears in last Sunday's overtime defeat against Seattle.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 11) -- They have lost three of four and are looking worn out, but still should win 10 or 11 games.
