Dez Bryant to have finger surgery
By Calvin Watkins
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will undergo surgery on his broken left index finger on Tuesday.
Bryant tweeted Monday night, "Having surgery on my finger tomorrow I can't wait until it's over."
A source confirmed the surgery has been scheduled.
Bryant suffered the broken finger after catching a pass in the second half of the Cowboys victory at the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bryant delayed having season-ending surgery because the Cowboys were still in the playoff chase. In the last three games, Bryant scored three touchdowns and caught 17 passes for 354 yards.
In the regular season finale at Washington, Bryant didn't finish the game because of severe back spasms. Bryant needed a wheelchair to leave FedEx Field. An MRI revealed he didn't have any structural damage to his back and he should recover.
There was a thought that Bryant would delay surgery to play in the Pro Bowl, if he was named as an alternate. But it was decided Bryant should have surgery.
On the season, Bryant finished tied for eighth in catches (88) and eighth in yards (1,311) in the NFL.
