Illinois State senior guard Tyler Brown has been suspended indefinitely, the school announced on Wednesday.
"Tyler has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team," Illinois State coach Dan Muller said in a statement. "We have standards for our program, and Tyler has violated those standards."
Brown has started all 16 games for the Redbirds. He is averaging 15.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals.
Illinois State began the season 9-3, including narrow losses to Louisville and Northwestern, but the Redbirds have fallen to 9-7 after four consecutive defeats to open the Missouri Valley Conference season.
