Deion Sanders, wife to share custody

Associated Press

MCKINNEY, Texas -- Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders and his estranged wife, Pilar, must share custody of their three children pending the couple's divorce.

A judge in McKinney on Wednesday also gave Sanders, who played 14 seasons for Atlanta, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington and Baltimore, exclusive rights to determine the children's primary residence and make education decisions. The children range in age from 9 to 12.

The Dallas Morning News says each parent sought full custody but must now alternate weeks with their children. Sanders, an NFL Network analyst, must also pay $108,000 in fees for an attorney representing the children.

The family previously shared a mansion in Prosper, about 30 miles north of Dallas. A scuffle last April led to allegations of assault. A judge later ruled that neither spouse committed domestic violence.

The Sanders divorce trial is set for March.
