The New York Mets continued to add to their bullpen depth Thursday, signing right-handed reliever LaTroy Hawkins to a minor league deal with a spring-training invite.
Hawkins, 40, went 2-3 with a 3.64 ERA in 48 relief appearances last season with the Los Angeles Angels.
The Mets would become his 10th team during a major league career that began in 1995. The Mets also have added right-hander Scott Atchison and left-hander Pedro Feliciano in recent days on minor league deals to bolster the bullpen. General manager Sandy Alderson also indicated he likely will watch former San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson audition for a second time for the club.
