TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed backup running back LeGarrette Blount to a one-year contract.
The team hasn't announced the move, but a league source said the deal is for $1.75 million ($1.25 million in base salary and another $500,000 in reporting and workout bonuses). Blount had been scheduled to become a restricted free agent on Tuesday.
After starting his first two seasons, Blount was reduced to a backup role after the Bucs drafted Doug Martin in the first round last year. Blount carried only 41 times for 151 yards last season.
