A pair of world title bouts will be fought May 6 in Tokyo, it was announced on Wednesday.

Japanese junior lightweight titlist Takashi Uchiyama (19-0-1, 16 KOs) will make his seventh title defense when he faces Venezuelan Jaider Parra (20-0-1, 10 KOs), the younger brother of former flyweight titleholder Lorenzo Parra.

"I wish to keep winning until my ultimate confrontation with another interim titlist, Yuriorkis Gamboa," said Uchiyama, who is coming off an eighth-round knockout of then-undefeated interim titlist Bryan Vasquez on Dec. 31.

Gamboa, who won an interim belt earlier in December, is probably headed to the lightweight division and unlikely to face Uchiyama.

In the co-feature, junior bantamweight titlist Kohei Kono (28-7, 11 KOs), also from Japan, will make his first title defense when he squares off with interim titlist and mandatory challenger Liborio Solis (14-3-1, 7 KOs), who also happens to be from Venezuela.

Kono claimed a 115-pound world title by fourth-round knockout of Tepparith Kokietgym of Thailand on the same Dec. 31 card in Tokyo that included Uchiyama-Vasquez.
