An undisclosed injury has forced UFC featherweight Clay Guida to withdraw from a scheduled UFC on Fox bout against Chad Mendes next month in San Jose.
The UFC has not yet announced a replacement opponent for Mendes on the April 20 date. Sherdog.com earlier reported the injury.
Mendes (13-1) has had a difficult time securing a fight as of late. He was pulled entirely from the UFC 157 card on Feb. 23, in Anaheim, Calif., when his original opponent, Manny Gamburyan, was injured.
"I'm startin2think I'm cursed or somethin (sic)," Mendes said in a Twitter post.
A former No. 1 contender, Mendes' only loss came via first-round knockout to reigning 145-pound champion Jose Aldo in January 2012. He is 2-0 since the loss, with two first-round finishes. He is currently the No. 3 featherweight in the world, according to ESPN.com.
Guida (30-13) made his featherweight debut earlier this year, defeating Hastu Hioki via split decision in January. The loss snapped a two-fight skid for the former lightweight.
