Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Last Gunfighter extended his winning streak to five, rallying up the rail in deep stretch to beat Mordi's Miracle by two lengths Saturday in the $150,000 Excelsior Stakes at Aqueduct.

The 4-year-old colt, ridden by Rajiv Maragh, is 5 for 5 since joining the Chad Brown stable last fall. This was the biggest victory of his nine-race career.

Last Gunfighter ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:50.78 and paid $8.30, $3.90 and $2.80. Mordi's Miracle returned $3.20 and $2.60 as the 2-1 favorite, and Isn't He Perfect paid $4.30 to show.
