Percussion wins the Big A feature

Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Percussion nipped Summer Sunset by a nose on Wednesday in the $67,450 allowance feature at Aqueduct.

The 5-year-old gelding trained by Todd Pletcher earned a second straight win at Aqueduct, improving to 4 for 21. Rajiv Maragh was aboard for the one mile in 1:36.48.

Percussion paid $4.90 and $2.90 while Summer Sunset returned $4.20.

Fiddlers Afleet was third in the contest with only four betting interests.

Show wagers were refunded after Smash was declared a nonstarter as the stewards determined he encountered trouble at the break.
