TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- After a bit of rescheduling, Alabama's football team will return to the familiar terrain of the White House to be recognized by President Barack Obama as defending champions on Monday afternoon.

Alabama was originally scheduled to visit Washington, D.C., in early March but was forced to reschedule because of inclement weather. It will be the team's third trip to the country's capital in four years.

The Crimson Tide will be recognized for its Discover BCS National Championship victory against Notre Dame in January, the 15th national title in the school's history.

For coach Nick Saban, it will be his fourth trip to the White House. He went as coach of the then-champion LSU Tigers in 2004.
