Pominville missed the Wild's final two regular-season games after being elbowed in the head by the Los Angeles Kings' Dustin Brown on April 23. Brown was suspended two games.
"Just not quite ready," Wild coach Mike Yeo said after Tuesday's morning skate at the United Center. "We want to make sure, obviously this is a big game, but you got to look at the big picture. And we got to make sure that we get him back in and get him back in for good."
Pominville was acquired by the Wild in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres on April 3. He's had four goals and five assists in 10 games for the Wild. He had 14 goals and 20 assists in 47 regular-season games this season.
The Wild are already without right winger Dany Heatley, who underwent season-ending shoulder surgery earlier this month.
The Blackhawks will be without forward Dave Bolland and goaltender Ray Emery, who are sidelined with lower-body injuries.
