Rockies' Dexter Fowler leaves game

Associated Press

DENVER -- Colorado Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler left the game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night after hurting his right hip flexor trying to beat out a bunt.

Fowler appeared to run into Rays first baseman Sean Rodriguez at the bag on a close play in the fourth inning. Fowler then gingerly limped toward the dugout and was replaced in center by Eric Young Jr. to start the fifth.

In the first, Fowler lined a single to left to extend his hitting streak to a career-best 11 games. Fowler is hitting .310 this season and has a team-best eight homers.

The Rockies were already without All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who sat out the game with soreness in his legs.
