Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari's return from reconstructive knee surgery may not happen until late January or February, The Denver Post reported.
Gallinari, who was expected to return in early January, said on ESPN radio affiliate 102.3 in Denver that surgery on his torn ACL has been delayed for another two weeks. He's already had a procedure on his meniscus.
Gallinari suffered the season-ending injury in an April 4 game against the Dallas Mavericks. The 24-year-old Italian forward averaged 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 71 games this season.
Acquired from the New York Knicks in the blockbuster trade of Carmelo Anthony two years ago, Gallinari signed a four-year, $42 million extension last season.
Without Gallinari, the Nuggets were upset in the first round of the playoffs by the Golden State Warriors.
