Zenyatta in foal to War Front

Zenyatta, pictured with trainer John Shirreffs, is carrying her third foal.
Champion Zenyatta is in foal to War Front, her connections have confirmed.
The 2010 Horse of the Year is carrying her third foal after delivering a 2012 colt by Bernardini and a 2013 son of Tapit, according a June 14 announcement on Zenyatta.com.
"We are proud to announce that, as of today, Zenyatta is confirmed 37 days in foal," the website said. "Zenyatta was examined by Dr. Holder this week, and checks out to be happily in foal and in excellent health."
Zenyatta, a 9-year-old daughter of Street Cry owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, won 19 races in a row including the 2008 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic and the 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic before suffering her only loss to Blame in her final start, the Breeders' Cup Classic of 2010. She is out of the Kris S. mare Vertigineaux and now resides at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky.
War Front, a grade I-winning son of Danzig who stands at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky., is the sire of 20 stakes winners, 12 graded, including The Factor, Data Link, Warning Flag, Lines of Battle, Departing, Jack Milton, and Summer Soiree. He is out of the Rubiano mare Starry Dreamer.
