Mariners recall Erasmo Ramirez

Associated Press

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Mariners have recalled right-hander Erasmo Ramirez to start against the Cleveland Indians.

The expected roster move was made official on Tuesday, with Ramirez schedule to make his second start of the season Tuesday night. Ramirez was recalled from Single-A Everett, where he was sent so he could make a start during the All-Star break on normal rest.

The Mariners sent reliever Bobby LaFromboise to Triple-A Tacoma to clear a roster spot.

Ramirez's only start came on July 11 against Boston when he gave up seven earned runs in 4 2-3 innings. In his one start at Single-A, Ramirez went 5 1-3 innings and allowed one earned run.
