Team USA entered Sunday's Gold Cup final with hopes of extending its 10-game win streak and earning a fifth Gold Cup title. With 90-plus minutes of stifling defense and one quick tap-in at the foot of midfielder Brek Shea, the men's national soccer team accomplished both feats. Shea's goal was all the Americans needed to down Panama and capture their 11th consecutive victory, a win that will likely have them vault over Mexico as the best team from CONCACAF in the next FIFA rankings.
The remainder of the top five is an eclectic group of athletes whose performances were powerful and inspiring. Derek Jeter and Yasiel Puig nabbed their positions for knocking homers on a first pitch back from the disabled list and in walk-off fashion, respectively. Ryan Newman merited his spot after outracing Sprint Cup points leader Jimmie Johnson to Victory Lane at the Brickyard 400. Hunter Mahan displayed just how important family is by putting down his clubs in the middle of the Canadian Open to witness the birth of his first child. Do you agree with our Top 10?
