Less than a week into the preseason, TCU is already down two starters.
Linebacker Joel Hasley, who started 10 games as a walk-on in 2012, has left the Horned Frogs, the school announced Monday. TCU coach Gary Patterson said in a statement that Hasley "decided it was time to move on from football."
"I'd like to thank Joel for everything he's done for TCU and his commitment to our program," Patterson said. "We will miss him and wish him the best."
Hasley is the second projected starter to leave the program since the team reported for camp last week. Starting right tackle Tayo Fabuluje left TCU for "personal reasons," the school revealed Thursday.
Juniors Jonathan Anderson and Paul Dawson will likely be in competition to replace Hasley in the lineup.
TCU opens the season Aug. 31 in Arlington, Texas, against LSU.
