Tim Tebow 'praying for' Riley Cooper

Tim Tebow, who won two BCS championships with Riley Cooper at Florida, said Tuesday he has been praying for his friend and former college teammate.

"You know we're friends," Tebow, a backup quarterback with the New England Patriots, told CSNPhilly.com on Tuesday. "We've been close for a long time, so we'll talk.

"I haven't gotten to see him yet today. I'm sure I'll see him soon, but I was definitely praying for him."

Cooper returned to the Philadelphia Eagles after a brief stint away from the team and said he has spoken with each of his teammates individually since a video capturing him using a derogatory racial remark went viral. The Eagles and the Patriots held a joint practice Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Tebow, when asked if he was surprised by Cooper's remark in the video, smiled and stayed silent.

"I'm just going to keep our relationship private and that's where I think it needs to be," Tebow told CSNPhilly.com.
