Purdue fills final coaching spot with Brantley
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue coach Matt Painter hired former Boilermakers player Brandon Brantley as an assistant coach Wednesday.
Painter now has a full staff with three Indiana natives as assistants.
Brantley spent the last two years with Basketball University and as the EG10 AAU Under-16 head coach. He also served as a head coach at the Indianapolis Pro-Am Summer League from 2008-12. From 2006-10, he worked on the coaching staff at Indianapolis Ben Davis.
Brantley played for the Boilermakers when they won three straight Big Ten titles in the mid-1990s and was the captain and co-MVP of the 1995-96 team, which went 26-6 and was the top seed in the West Region. He finished his career with 803 points, 591 rebounds and 114 blocks.
