DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins cut fullback Evan Rodriguez just one day after he made the 53-man roster and claimed fullback Tyler Clutts off waivers from the Houston Texans on Sunday, the team announced.
Rodriguez confirmed the move on his Twitter account Sunday, tweeting "time to find a new home!"
It's just the nature of the business. Thank you family and fans for the love and support! God always has a plan!— Evan E-Rod Rodriguez (@ERod_Inc) September 1, 2013
Miami claimed Rodriguez off waivers from the Chicago Bears earlier this summer after the fullback was released due to off-the-field issues. Rodriguez beat out Miami's 2012 starter, Jorvorskie Lane, in training camp.
Clutts, a third-year player out of Fresno State, spent last year with the Texans and 2011 with the Bears.
In other Dolphins roster moves, the team lost former defensive tackle A.J. Francis due to a roster claim from the New England Patriots. Miami was attempting to add Francis to the practice squad after releasing him Saturday evening.
