SARASOTA, Fla. -- Arizona Cardinals nose tackle Dan Williams will miss Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to attend his father's funeral, coach Bruce Arians said.
Williams is not with the team this week in Florida, while the Cardinals prep for the Buccaneers.
Williams' father, Thomas, was killed in a car accident Friday near Jackson, Miss., while driving to New Orleans for the Cardinals game against the Saints. Williams did not travel to Louisiana with the team and missed that game, a 31-7 loss.
The funeral is Saturday in Memphis, Tenn., a team spokesman said.
Few details about the accident have emerged. According to reports, Williams' mother and sister were also in the car but are expected to survive.
A team spokesman said arrangements are being made for Williams' teammates to attend the service. There is no timetable for Williams' return.
Also, Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson did not practice Wednesday. The tip of his left middle finger was severed late in the first half Sunday against the Saints. Rookie linebacker Kevin Minter (hamstring) also did not practice.
Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) fully practiced for the first time in two weeks. Running back Rashard Mendenhall (toe) was limited and defensive end Ronald Talley (wrist) practiced in full.
