YOU CAN'T accuse the Grizzlies of complacency. Rather than teeter on the edge of contention, their new analytic brain trust stunningly traded leading scorer Rudy Gay in January. In classic Ewing Theory fashion, the Grizz more than doubled their net rating (ORtg minus DRtg), as the team, led by Mike Conley, finished on a 27-10 run. One problem: They couldn't shoot. To fix a 24th-ranked eFG%, they add long-bombing Mike Miller and his 40.6 3PT percentage. Alas, Memphis is still a long shot for a title.
