STANFORD, Calif. -- UCLA linebacker Eric Kendricks was taken to Stanford Hospital for tests on his kidney during the first half of the No. 9 Bruins' game at No. 13 Stanford on Saturday, a school spokesman said.
It was not immediately clear what caused Kendricks' kidney issue, but the initial evaluation in the Stanford emergency room showed no major injuries.
Kendricks entered the game as UCLA's leading tackler this season and had nine tackles in the first half of Saturday's game before leaving with the injury.
Kendricks, a junior, led the Pac-12 in tackles last season with 150.
He has made at least seven tackles in each game this year and posted 13 tackles and an interception two weeks ago at Utah.
Kendricks will fly home with the team and be reevaluated at UCLA.
