Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing will miss the rest of the season with a broken left leg and torn lateral collateral ligament, a source confirmed for ESPN.com's Tania Ganguli on Monday.
His recovery time is expected to be three months.
Cushing went down in the third quarter after the helmet of Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles hit his surgically repaired left knee.
The Texans head into their bye week at 2-5 following Sunday's 17-16 loss to the unbeaten Chiefs.
